Pakistan Cardiac Society Karachi Chapter unveils bold vision for cardiac care in 2025

KARACHI: The Pakistan Cardiac Society (PCS) Karachi Chapter officially launched its calendar year 2025 with a dynamic agenda to advance cardiac healthcare, setting the tone for an ambitious year ahead.

Dr. Muhammad Akram Sultan, Chapter Coordinator, delivered the opening remarks and unveiled the newly appointed leadership team. Dr. Beenish Imam, Secretary, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arshad Ali Shah, Treasurer, and all Council Members were formally introduced during the event.

2025 action plan highlights

Dr. Sultan presented an action-driven proposed plan of Activities for 2025 focused on innovation, collaboration, and public engagement:

• Rotational Meetings at major institutions to foster collaboration among cardiology professionals.
• Data Collection Initiative to build a comprehensive database of cardiac patients from tertiary care hospitals.
• Public Awareness Campaigns targeting schools, universities, and community groups to promote heart health.
• Industry Collaborations through Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) for research and academic development.
• A Dedicated WhatsApp Group for seamless communication among Chapter members.
• A Monthly Digital Magazine highlighting research, achievements, and upcoming events, managed by a dedicated editorial team.

Senior cardiologists and council members applauded these initiatives, emphasizing the importance of a unified, proactive approach to advancing cardiac care.

Treasurer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arshad Ali Shah expressed gratitude for his nomination, vowing to maintain financial transparency and support all Chapter activities. He affirmed his commitment to sound fiscal management to enhance the Chapter’s operational capacity.

The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Secretary Dr. Beenish Imam, who recognized the dedication of all members and expressed enthusiasm for fostering growth and innovation in cardiovascular healthcare. “Together, we aim to build a stronger, healthier future for Karachi and beyond through research, education, and public engagement,” she noted.
