PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has intensified its emergency relief efforts in Kurram district by dispatching essential medical supplies and continuing helicopter rescue operations.
According to KP Health Advisor Ihtesham Khan, the provincial government has sent an additional 500 kilograms of emergency medicines to Upper Kurram using its MI-17 helicopter. These vital medical supplies, donated by various NGOs and charitable organizations, will be handed over to the Medical Superintendent (MS) of Parachinar for immediate distribution.
Meanwhile, helicopter evacuation services in Kurram remain operational, with over 230 individuals already transported to safer locations. Authorities have confirmed that more flights are scheduled to facilitate ongoing rescue and medical support missions.
In an effort to restore peace and stability, the Kurram district administration has announced a Jirga with local elders to discuss and implement a structured disarmament process. Furthermore, reports indicate that over 1,200 patients have received medical checkups as part of the relief operation.
To further secure the region, authorities confirmed that the demolition of bunkers in Pewar and Balish Khel has been successfully completed. The district administration reiterated its commitment to implementing the peace agreement and ensuring lasting stability in Kurram.
With continued government intervention, humanitarian support, and security measures, efforts are in full swing to address the immediate needs of Kurram’s residents and lay the groundwork for sustainable peace in the region.
