JPMC constitutes committee to investigate harassment allegations

KARACHI: The Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) has formed a four-member inquiry committee to investigate allegations of workplace harassment, both verbal and physical, against the Head of the Urology Department, Dr. Shahzad Ali.
The committee, chaired by Dr. Nighat Shah, Head of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, includes Dr. Muhammad Suleman, Joint Executive Director, and Dr. Chooni Lal, Head of the Psychiatry Department, as members. Dr. Urooj Lal Rehman from the Department of Medicine has been appointed as member-secretary.
The committee’s first meeting is scheduled for December 11 in the JPMC Committee Room. The inquiry aims to ensure a thorough and impartial investigation into the allegations, reflecting the institution’s commitment to maintaining a harassment-free workplace.
