Province of Vietnam suspends use of Pfizer vaccine batch

HANOI: Thanh Hoa had halted the use of a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination batch as more than 120 schoolchildren were hospitalised after receiving the jab. 

The Pfizer Covid-19 vaccination had been administered to youngsters aged 15 to 17 years in the central province.

According to a Vietnamese news source, the provincial Center for Disease Control (CDC) admitted over 120 children to health facilities after exhibiting symptoms such as nausea, high temperature, and respiratory problems. 

Luong Ngoc Truong, Director, CDC, stated the current vaccination batch had been suspend, and it would be stored and utilised for other groups, such as adults, in the future. 

Vu Van Chinh, Director, Ha Trung District General Hospital, asserted vaccination-related adverse effects were common, although they were more likely to occur in children than in adults.
