KARACHI - Encroachment and illegal motorcycle parking lot existing in the periphery of Sindh Institute of Skin Diseases (SISD) are causing inconvenience to patients visiting the health facility.

Even doctors and other staff of the hospital have been facing difficulties due to encroachments and unlawful motorcycle parking lot on the road leading to the hospital.

The 50-bed Sindh Institute of Skin Diseases, located behind Saddar’s Regal Chowk, is the only public sector skin hospital in the metropolis. Its OPDs are visited by more than 2,500 people daily for consultation and treatment purpose.
However, the road leading to the hospital has been heavily encroached upon by vendors, stalls and pushcarts selling fruits. Moreover, haphazard parking of motorcycles on a portion of the road create hindrance for the smooth flow of vehicular traffic, thereby causing hardships to the patients, doctors and other staff of the hospital.

Though the Karachi Municipal Corporation’s anti-encroachment cell has launched anti-encroachment campaign in different parts of city, its officials seem least interested in removing encroachments from the road that leads to the health facility.
