KARACHI - Director General and CEO of the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), Karachi, Hans Kedzierski, has said that the hospital is serving more than 80,000 patients annually.
“No other hospital with 760-bed, even in the US or Canada, serve that much number of patients,” he added.
He was speaking at a programme jointly organized by 21st Century Business & Economic Club (21st CBEC) and Overseas Universities Alumni Club (OUAC). Former speaker of National Assembly and prominent politician Ellahi Bakhsh Soomro was the chief guest on the occasion.
Discussing many aspects of the AKUH, Hans Kedzierski said:” Though the hospital is expensive, we say the treatment we provide is more valuable than the charges we receive.”
He told the audience that AKUH’s clinics are serving more than a million patients yearly. "We have 1,220 collection points all over the country and they carry out 9 million tests each year. Our staff is very much competent, we try our level best to give the best possible treatment to our patients and nurses trained at our nursing school are of international standard.”
He praised the AMAN ambulance service.
Speaking on the occasion, Trade and Development Authority of Pakistan’s (TDAP) chairman SM Muneer lauded the services of AKUH, saying the hospital has wonderful system of utilizing Zakat for the treatment of poor people.
