ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government has placed the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on high alert in anticipation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.
In a circular issued by the PIMS administration, all departments have been informed that the heightened alert will be in effect from October 13 to October 17.
Staff in shifts, emergency departments, and clinical areas have been directed to prepare emergency rosters. The circular specifies that personnel in general surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, cardiology, critical care, and emergency services must be deployed, and no leave requests from staff will be processed during this period.
Dr. Sharjeel Zaheer, Director of Emergency Services at PIMS, has been appointed as the focal person for the duration of the high alert.
