KARACHI: The Essa Laboratory & Diagnostic Centre and Rotary Club Karachi Avenue has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU ) to provide a 50 per cent discount in all medical tests for the blind and bearing teacher’s salary expenditures for six months to educate visually impaired students.
Chief Executive Officer, Essa Laboratory & Diagnostic Centre, and District Governor, Rotary International, Prof Dr Farhan Essa announced this, in a recent press conference held at the Karachi Press Club.
President, Rotary Club of Karachi, Sheikh Imtiaz Hussain, Senior Vice-President, Junaid Rehman, Vice-President, Shazia Mateen, Secretary, Afsheen Abid, Abid Hussain, Faisal Maqsood, and President, RCC BINAE Avenue, Salman Elahi, were also present on occasion.
CEO, Essa Lab & Diagnostic Centre, Dr Farhan Essa, said that the Rotary Club is an old and powerful institution founded in 1905 and had more than one million members worldwide. He explained that the Rotary Club had engaged in multiple social and welfare activities, including flood relief, capacity building, skill development, provision of medical facilities, and more.
He informed that the MoU between the Essa Lab and the sister organization of Rotary Club Karachi, President, RCC BINAE Avenue, Salman Elahi, has agreed to give a 50 per cent discount for all medical tests, including COVID-19, and bearing the expenditure of teachers to educate visually impaired students.
