KARACHI: The medical staff of Sindh, under the banner of Grand Health Alliance (GHA), has staged a protest demonstration and sit-in outside the Sindh Secretariat for risk allowance and other demands.

The protesters carried banners and placards inscribed with different slogans, including justice for employees, give risk allowance, nurses' promotion, paramedical staff service structure and others.

Chairman GHA Dr Mehboob said that the Sindh Health Department continuously ignores our demands, so we should not be forced to close the emergency service.

Dr Mehboob further said that if the demands of the Grand Health Alliance are not met, the sit-in of medical and support staff will enter the Red Zone from the Press Club.

It should be noted that the GHA has demanded the resignation of the Sindh Health Minister, and due to the indifference of the GHA and the Health Department, thousands of patients have been forced to stumble from door to door.

The negotiations between the Grand Health Alliance and the Sindh Health Department are still pending, due to which the Grand Health Alliance has boycotted all the services of medical and non-medical staff throughout Sindh, due to which thousands of patients have been discharged from the hospital.
They were forced to return home. Many operations were postponed across Sindh, and all hospital services were boycotted. However, only the emergency department remained active.
