Latest modular OT made functional at NICVD

KARACHI: According to sources, a world-class Modular Operation Theatre has been made operational at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), which will help in minimizing the risk of contracting infections during surgery.

The NIVCD’s management has completed the up-gradation work of two operation theaters on modern lines to protect patients from contracting infectious diseases during surgery. There are seven operation theaters in the NICVD, out of which two were converted into Modular OTs while five other theaters are also being upgraded as per international standards.

Cardiovascular disease-related surgeries have also been started in the newly up-graded Modular OT.  Earlier, eight modular operation theaters were established at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), Sukkur, out of which two are fully functional at present.
