KARACHI: The education of hundreds of pupils is now in jeopardy because of an illegal school closure by Sindh Employees' Social Security Institution (SESSI) officials.
Fawad Mansoor, a government auctioneer, and SESSI officials paid a visit to Meritorious School's matriculation campus at PECHS Block 2. The officers came to seal the school. According to the source, it was done without an official letter.
The social security inspectors had already given the institution notice that unless it made a deposit of Rs 9 lakh, an audit would be performed. However, because they earn a minimum income of Rs30,000, the audit does not apply to them, according to the school administration, even though the Sindh government has set a minimum wage of Rs25,000.
