KARACHI- At least 45 scheduled surgical operations were postponed at Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) the other day when its nurses and OT technicians staged a protest demonstration to voice their anger over alleged indifferent attitude of the hospital’s additional medical superintendent (OTs) towards employees.
According the protesters, the additional MS (OTs) has made it a habit to transfer or issue show-cause notices to employees on flimsy grounds.
They were demanding immediate transfer of the official for her alleged indifferent attitude towards employees.
Later, a delegation comprising Sindh Paramedical Staff Association’s president Akhlaq Ahmed Khan and a leader of All Sindh People’s Paramedical Staff Welfare Association, Qayyum Khan Marwat, met the CHK’s medical superintendent Prof Saeed Qureshi and apprised him that nurses and OT technicians have been facing difficulties in discharging duties because of the official’s `stubborn’ and `uncalled for’ attitude towards them.
Prof Qureshi gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that the matter would be resolved in a couple of days.
