Man held for subjecting female teacher to acid attack 

LAHORE: Police have arrested a man for subjecting a school teacher to acid attack for refusing his marriage proposal in the Shahdara Town area of Lahore.

As per police, the school teacher fell victim to the acid attack perpetrated by two motorcyclists.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr Anoosh Masood says the teacher's face sustained severe burns from the acid, prompting her immediate transfer to a hospital for medical intervention.

The SSP says that according to initial probe, the primary suspect, Umar Dogar, attempted to flee abroad via Sialkot Airport following the alleged acid attack on the teacher. Law enforcement swiftly apprehended Dogar at the airport.

According to Dr Anoosh, Umar Dogar disclosed that he intended to marry the school teacher, who declined his proposal. Enraged by the rejection, Dogar resorted to throwing acid on her face.

The police escorted the injured teacher to the hospital to receive medical care and recorded her statement. Police teams are conducting raids to apprehend the co-accused, Ghulam Mustafa.
