In remembrance of the145th birth anniversary of Muhammad Allama Iqbal, the Federal Government has declared the 9th of November as a public holiday.
Muhammad Allama Iqbal, also known as the "Poet of the East", was a writer, philosopher and politician. His works are considered the greatest during the twentieth century. He is also the national poet of Pakistan.
He vehemently contributed greatly towards the empowerment of Muslims during the pre-partition era to direct the them towards independence. His efforts shall be commemorated on this day.
