Woman succumbs to acid attack in Karachi

KARACHI: In a distressing incident, a 55-year-old woman lost her life in an acid attack that occurred in the Gulistan-e-Johar area of Karachi.

According to the police, the victim's daughter had been divorced six years ago, and her ex-son-in-law had been issuing threats for the past six months.

The unfortunate incident happened when two masked assailants forcibly entered the victim's residence and perpetrated the attack, dousing the woman in acid. Fortunately, the quick thinking of the woman's daughter, who managed to hide in the washroom, saved her life.

Tragically, the woman succumbed to the severe acid burns, marking a devastating outcome of the vicious assault.

The police are investigating the case, and the motive behind the attack appears to be rooted in the ongoing threats hurled by the victim’s ex-son-in-law.
