Dengue surveillance, control operations in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Comprehensive dengue surveillance and control operations have been launched in the federal capital by the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration in response to the escalating dengue fever threat.
On the orders of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Irfan Nawaz Memon, all assistant commissioners (ACs) have intensified their efforts, underscoring the city’s commitment to combating the dengue menace, according to an ICT administration spokesperson.
He says that daily inspections for dengue larvae continue in the capital, with several arrests for failure to adhere to dengue prevention guidelines.
The spokesperson says that areas where dengue larvae have been found are immediately sealed off.
Business outlets not implementing the anti-dengue measures are also being shut down as part of broader efforts to ensure compliance with health regulations aimed at preventing the breeding of dengue-carrying mosquitoes.
DC Memon emphasized the need for comprehensive city-wide efforts to eliminate dengue larvae, calling for thorough inspections across all city sectors.
He stressed the importance of keeping citizens informed about ongoing operations and health measures.
