KARACHI - Taking a strong notice of theft of medicines from various government hospitals, Sindh Minister for Health Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar asked Special Secretary (Health) Riaz Memon to set up a special task force to check and curb the menace of medicines’ theft.
Presiding over a meeting of health department’s officials in his office, the minister said that it had been brought into his notice that such heinous crimes were being committed in various government hospitals.
He said those who are involved in theft of medicines would be brought to the book and FIRs would be lodged against them no matter how influential they are.
He said that certain mafia was involved in theft of medicines and it was being done in connivance with the employees of hospitals.
He urged medical superintendents of all public sector hospitals to expose all those elements who are involved in such heinous crime at the cost of sufferings of poor patients.
