Health secy asked to overcome shortage of female doctors at LGH

KARACHI – Taking a strong notice of shortage of female medical officers in Lyari General Hospital (LGH), Sindh Health Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has directed the provincial secretary health to take immediate measures for filling all vacant posts of female doctors in the hospital for providing better health care facilities to female patients.

Presiding over a meeting at his office, he said that since government hospitals are required to provide timely medical facilitates to patients, he would not tolerate any negligence in this regard.
He informed the meeting that seven doctors have been suspended on disciplinary grounds, while an action against nine lady health supervisors of district Khairpur on the charges of dereliction of duties will be taken soon.

On this occasion, the minister told the participants of the meeting that he was trying to take celebrities on board for creating awareness about viral diseases among masses.
