Three-member inquiry committee formed to probe Dr Furqan death

KARACHI: The Sindh Health Department has constituted a three-member inquiry committee to probe the untimely death of Dr Furqan, a former radiologist at the Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases.

The inquiry committee comprised of Fayyaz Ahmed Abbasi, Special Secretary Health (Chairman), Prof Dr Amjad Siraj, Principal, Dow Medical College, Karachi (Member), and Dr Sikander Memon, CTA (Member/Convener).

The committee will enquire into the circumstances, which resulted in the subject’s death. The committee will also investigate whether the SOPs of proper isolation, referral, and telemedicine were being observed properly. The committee will submit its report within the next 24 hours.
