Karachi’s Mayor Inaugurates Children Emergency Block at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital

KARACHI- Karachi city’s Mayor, Mr. Wasim Akhtar inaugurated the children’s emergency block at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. This block has been established in collaboration with the Child Life Foundation.


Many important personalities were present at this occasion including, Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Saif ur Rehman, CEO of Children Life Foundation Dr. Ahsan, Chairman of DMC Central Rehan Hashmi, Vice Chairman Shakir Ali; Director of Medical Services Dr. Birbal and Medical Superintendent of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital were also present. This emergency block will cater young children and will provide them with good healthcare facilities.


City Mayor of Karachi also inspected the block and planted trees within the hospital. He showed complete confidence in the hospital’s team to carry out the health facilities in the new block, which will cater needy patients, requiring emergency care, free of cost.


The new Children’s Emergency at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital is a 50 bedded facility, equipped  with fully automated cardiac monitors, defibrillator, phototherapy units and a well stocked pharmacy. The pediatricians, paramedical and other helping staff are qualified and well trained to manage emergency cases, and all treatment and medicines will be provided free of cost.


This is yet another huge achievement of Child Life Foundation, with a vision to benefit young patients with early and easy access to quality emergency care.
