Innovations in Orthopedics! -Trained Team from UK Demonstrates New Techniques

Karachi: A specialist team of orthopedic and plastic consultant surgeons from United Kingdom (UK), consisting of seven members, visited Karachi to demonstrate the latest techniques in orthopedic surgery.

Specialists from UK’s Regenerative Clinic in London shared their knowledge and clinical expertise with Pakistan’s specialists. This program was held at South City Hospital, Clifton and Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre (JPMC).

 Deputy High Commissioner UK, Ms. Elin Burns stated that, Pakistan’s healthcare sector is growing day by day, due to which there is an increased demand for preventive health care. She discussed about the latest innovations UK has been recently working on; amd that it would greatly benefit Pakistani doctors.

Dr. Ali Noorani, member of the Regenerative Clinic, London, alongside Professor Adrian Wilson of the HCA Healthcare, University of Winchester, shared the latest techniques in orthopedic treatment, which were cost-effective and quick to perform.

Dr. Wilson, an orthopedic surgeon, demonstrated the new technique of Osteotomy, which involves cutting a bone and realigning it, eliminating congenital orthopedic disorders. This technique will serve as an excellent way of eliminating chronic knee pain. Another surgeon, Dr. Nima Haideri of Orthopedic Specialists, London, discussed about the disabilities resulting from various conditions, such as bow legs. She also showed results of the treatment that clarified the authenticity of these modified techniques.
