Private medical and dental colleges assure to implement JSMU merit list

KARACHI: All private medical and dental colleges/universities admissions reinforced the provincial cabinet's decision of 50 per cent passing percentage for MBBS admissions in a boardroom meeting held at Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU).

The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Prof Shahid Rasul, Acting Vice-Chancellor, JSMU, and attended by the numerous private Medical and Dental colleges/universities representatives.

The decision was taken in light of grievances raised on the passing percentage of candidates. During the meeting, Prof Shahid Rasul said that "It is a well-estimated decision by the provincial cabinet, and JSMU will uphold its responsibility as the focal institution for all matters related to admission to private medical and Dental colleges."

While endorsing the decision of the Government of Sindh, representatives from private medical and dental colleges/universities assured that the merit list issued by Jinnah Sindh Medical University would be implemented.

Dr Fatima Abid, Director Admissions, JSMU, briefed the representatives on the comprehensive admissions procedure in the MBBS and BDS programme. At the same time, Dr Azam Khan, Registrar, JSMU, was also present in the meeting.
