KARACHI: According to recent reports, over 80 million people in Pakistan are affected by mental health issues or disorders. The Ministry of Health presented these statistics during a National Assembly session chaired by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
The Health Ministry highlighted a concerning rise in mental health disorders across the country. The report disclosed that more than 80 million individuals are grappling with psychological problems in Pakistan.
Additionally, the report indicated that mental health treatment facilities are available in all major hospitals across the nation. In response to these alarming figures, healthcare stakeholders—including doctors, pharmacists, NGOs, and politicians—have urged the government to reconsider its budget priorities and allocate increased funding for public health.
