In a statement issued from the CM House, the Chief Minister said that 2,571 tests were conducted against which 417 new cases emerged. The government has tested 66,623 samples so far and diagnosed 7,882 cases (11.83%), he said.
He disclosed that seven deaths due to the coronavirus had also been reported. The coronavirus has claimed 137 lives so far. “The death ratio has been recorded at 1.7% of the total patients,” he said.
Mr Shah said that at present, 6,116 patients are under treatment. He added that 4,994 patients had been kept in home isolation, where doctors provide them with the necessary treatment, 615 are at the isolation centers, and 507 have been admitted to different hospitals.
He disclosed that 79 patients were in critical condition, out of which 16 were on ventilator support. “This shows that 16% of the patients were on ventilators,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that out of 417 cases, 357 belonged to Karachi. He added that 123 cases were diagnosed in Malir, 91 in District South, 51 in District Central, 44 in District East, and 30 in District West.
Talking about other districts, Shah said that 20 new cases were detected in Ghotki, eight in Hyderabad, three in Jacobabad, and one each in Naushero Feroze and Sujawal.
The Chief Minister urged the people to observe social distancing and follow the SOPs strictly.
