KARACHI: The Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) has failed to vacate the rooms of the Nursing Hostel, which has been occupied by irrelevant women.
A senior staff nurse at the CHK noted that women working in Karachi's public and private sectors had occupied half of the Nursing Hostel's rooms. The staff nurses and hospital administration has been unable to evacuate these rooms.
The powerful outsiders, namely Afshan, Afroz, Sana Aslam, Farzana, Iqra, Rehna, Noor Ul Ain, Madiha, Tanya, and Sonya, have been living in the Nursing Hostel since long with the support of powerful officials of the Sindh Health Department. The majority of these women work as staff nurses in private sector hospitals on handsome salaries, but they are availing government accommodation free of cost.
The staff nurses and nursing students studying in the Nursing Institute of the CHK have been facing hardship due to the unavailability of rooms at the hostel.
Medical Superintendent, CHK, Dr Noor Muhammad Soomro, was not available to make any comments regarding the matter.
