KARACHI: A renowned British expert in forensic DNA and serology sciences, Dr William Goodwin, has expressed satisfaction over the quality of the work in the Sindh Forensic DNA and Serology Laboratory (SFDL) at the Dr Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), University of Karachi.
In a statement, spokesman of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi said that the visit of Dr William Goodwin, the professor at the School of Forensic and Applied Science, University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN), UK, was sponsored by the International Committee of The Red Cross (ICRC).
In a meeting held at the Dr Panjwani Center, Prof Dr M Iqbal Choudhary, Director of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, welcomed the British researcher and professor to the international center. SFDL In charge and Project Director Dr Ishtiaq Ahmad Khan was also present in the meeting.
In his visit, Prof Goodwin observed the laboratory activities of analysts at the SFDL, and expressed satisfaction over the quality of the work. He also applauded the latest equipment and working capacity of the Sindh Forensic DNA and Serology Laboratory.
Prof Iqbal Choudhary told the foreign expert, “The ICCBS regularly engages foreign experts to maintain the quality of research and scientific activities at par with international standards.”
