YDA Sindh launches tree planting drive at CHK

KARACHI: A plantation campaign has been launched by the Young Doctors Association (YDA) Sindh at the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) to combat climate change and promote environmental sustainability.
During the YDA campaign, saplings of various tree species, including Neem, Gulmohar, Champa, and Peepal were planted at the CHK.
Dr. Syed Khalid Bukhari, Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital Karachi, participated in the campaign by planting a tree, symbolizing the beginning of this crucial environmental effort.
The campaign highlights the pressing need for environmental action, particularly in response to the recent heatwaves affecting the region.
Dr. Waris Ali, President of YDA Sindh, underscored the essential role that healthcare providers play in both patient care and environmental stewardship.
"Planting trees not only helps reduce temperatures and improve air quality but also contributes to creating a healthier environment for everyone," he remarked.
YDA Sindh encourages the community to contribute to this green initiative, emphasizing that every tree planted is a step towards a healthier and cleaner Sindh, Dr Ali added.
