In addition, from July-August 2022, SHCC accepted 97 registration applications and awarded 104 registration certificates to clinics and hospitals in Sindh. Eighteen Hospitals received Provisional Licenses.
SHCC anti-quackery teams made extensive inspection and enforcement visits from July to August 2022 as part of its anti-quackery campaign.
Throughout the province, 535 inspections of various healthcare establishments (HCEs) were done during this period. During this period, 60 clinics/hospitals were shut down, and over 215 warning notifications were given to practitioners for noncompliance.
The SHCC Act and Regulations were determined to be complied with by 178 clinics and hospitals. Additionally, 82 clinics have been resealed.
The total fines (penalties) levied by SHCC against non-compliant clinics was Rs 2,08 million. Over eighty per cent of penalties were successfully collected.
From July-August 2022, the SHCC received six complaints against hospitals/clinics. The facilities in issue were investigated concerning the complaints to determine the facts, followed by a formal hearing of the complainant and the defendants.
From July-August 2022, training sessions on Minimum Service Delivery Standards for Homeopathic Clinics were held, with 27 Homeopathic Clinics participating. 66 General Practitioners and 22 Hospitals in the Karachi division received training during another training session.
SHCC teams are also establishing standards for telemedicine, radiology, and dentistry. The Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority (PNRA) was consulted on radiological criteria during a meeting. Key stakeholders convened for a second meeting to examine the Final Drip of the Dental Standards.
With the successful onboarding of newly hired SHCC employees, the process of strengthening District Headquarters offices has begun.
