Health Minister Expresses Concern Over the Rise of Congo Virus

KARACHI-  Provincial Minister for Health, Dr. Azra Pechuho expressed her concerns over the increasing number of cases of Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) and directed the Director Health Services Karachi to take preventive measures to control its spread.

She distinctly instructed the Director Health Karachi to compile data of the infected patients and make necessary arrangements for the provision of treatment for such patients in all major health facilities of Karachi.

In her statement, Dr. Azra also stressed upon the need of launching comprehensive awareness drives to prevent citizens from acquiring this deadly disease.

Dr. Azra also also took notice of Civil Hospital Sukkur ’s non functional Burns Centre and instructed the Secretary Health Sindh to make it operational to facilitate patients.

Furthermore, she added that its the Sindh Health Department’s responsibility to provide proper health facilities against all diseases, to the residents of Province of Sindh, at their doorstep.
