PESHAWAR: The Secretary of Health for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Syed Adeel Shah, announced that the Department of Health, in partnership with Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar and a consortium of British universities, has launched a phased program aimed at providing advanced professional training for nurses working in public hospitals.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the second batch of the KP Nurses Capacity Building Project, organized in collaboration with the British universities consortium at KMU, Shah highlighted that the program will not only enhance nursing education based on modern standards but will also cultivate a new culture of nursing care within the public healthcare system.
He further emphasized that, in line with the vision of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, selected nurses will undergo advanced training to deliver high-quality medical services in government hospitals, resulting in notable improvements in healthcare delivery.
Shah expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the healthcare system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, noting that it is now more effective than in other provinces. Despite facing various challenges, the province's medical staff continues to provide exemplary services.
