ORMARA, BALOCHISTAN: An awareness lecture titled "Healthy Habits Lead to a Bright Future" was held at the Pakistan Navy Cadet College in Ormara for naval officers, instructors, and cadets, to foster an understanding of comprehensive health and wellness.
The session held on the invitation of Principal Commodore Fazal Ur Rehman, was conducted by Dr. Hera Nadeem, Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Hera said health encompasses physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease, highlighting that without each of these components, true health remains incomplete.
Emphasising the importance of healthy habits, she pointed to Pakistan’s global ranking as the ninth-most obese country, linking this to the increasing prevalence of diabetes and hypertension in the country.
Underscoring the significance of oral hygiene, Dr. Hera said that daily practices like brushing and flossing contribute not only to dental health but also to overall physical and social wellness.
She also addressed mental health and social well-being, areas often overlooked in traditional health definitions, asserting that a well-rounded view of health must include these aspects.
Concluding the session, Dr. Heras said, “Change your habits, change your life.”
In appreciation of her contribution, Lieutenant Commander Humera presented Dr. Hera with a shield of recognition on behalf of the College Principal.
