RAWALPINDI: According to the latest figures released by the District Health Authority Rawalpindi, the newly reported dengue patients include 47 from the Pothohar Town peri-urban areas, 26 from Rawalpindi Cantonment Board localities, and 18 from Municipal Corporation areas.
As of now, a total of 241 patients are being treated in dengue wards across various allied hospitals. Among them, 66 patients are admitted to Holy Family Hospital, 55 to Benazir Bhutto Hospital, 48 to Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital, 34 to Fauji Foundation Hospital, and 38 others are receiving care in different private hospitals.
Since the beginning of the year, 5,279 dengue cases have been recorded in the district. Meanwhile, authorities have levied fines totaling Rs. 21.66 million for violations of dengue-related standard operating procedures (SOPs). In addition to the fines, 5,330 cases have been registered against those found in breach of the regulations.
The district has also reported a total of 11 fatalities linked to the dengue virus this year.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and urge residents to adhere to safety guidelines to help curb the spread of the disease.
