Team of JSMU welcomes Pharm. D Batch 2022

KARACHI: An orientation ceremony for the ninth batch of Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D) students was held at the Jinnah Sindh Medical University's Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS-JSMU).

Attendees included  Dr Azam Khan, Principal, Registrar JSMU, and Professor Huma Ali, Head of Department, Pharmaceutics, Prof Lubna Ansari Baig, Chairperson APPNA Institute of Public Health-JSMU, Heads of Departments, faculty members, staff, and the fresh students of the ninth batch of Pharm. D students. 
Prof Shahid Rasul, Acting Vice-Chancellor, JSMU, hailed the students on becoming a part of this esteemed Institution. He further emphasized the critical role of Pharmacists in the medical profession and to benefit the community as qualified and competent Pharmacists. 

Professor Huma Ali, Principal of IPS-JSMU, and other JSMU academic and administrative authorities greeted the ninth batch of Pharm D students. There is still a lot of change going on in pharmaceutical education around the world, according to her. 


Individuals and academic and industrial partners at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences are working together to improve their skills and develop new leadership opportunities. 

Huma Ali introduced all of IPS-HoDs, JSMU's faculty, and non-faculty members after the event. Students were briefed by faculty members from several departments, including Prof Dr Kiran Rafiq, Head of Department Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Student Advisor, Dr Sadaf Naeem, Head of Department Pharmacy Practice, and Dr Humera Anser, Incharge Pharmacology. Sadly, Professor Huma Shareef, Head of the Pharmacognosy Department, was unable to attend the ceremony due to the fact that she is currently studying abroad. Saba Aijaz BalochAsst. Prof. IPS-JSMU, & Saima Abideen participated in the discussion.

In closing remarks, Associate Professor IPS-JSMU Dr. Yousra Shafiq expressed her gratitude for the event. The Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences-JSMU faculty members posed for a group photo with the incoming students.
