KARACHI- Air-conditioning system of Burns Center, Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK), has been not functioning properly owing to some technical fault, thereby adding miseries to patients in the current hot and sultry weather.
An official of the CHK’s Burns Center, on condition of anonymity, told this scribe that air-conditioning system, which was installed about more than a year back at a cost of Rs2.5 million, was not functioning properly because of poor maintenance and delayed repairing work.
The worst affected patients of the Burns Centre are those who are being treated in its male ward’s Room-A, female ward’s Room-B and female Intensive Care Unit (ICU), he added.
CHK’s additional medical superintendent Dr Abdul Haq when contacted said that maintenance and repairing work of the air-conditioners which was earlier delayed because of some unavoidable circumstances was now currently underway.
