Free plastic surgeries held at Civil Hospital Karachi

KARACHI - Renowned Plastic Surgeon of Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK), Dr Asad Awan said: Two-day, free of cost, plastic surgery sessions of patients were held on 31st December 2014 and 1st January 2015, in the hospital.

Dr Asad Awan said a United Kingdom-based team led by Prof Rizwan Alvi arrived in Karachi and examined the patients registered for surgery. He said international and local plastic surgeon operated on the patients in the Civil hospital. Prof Rizwan Alvi, with assistance of Prof Ashraf Ganatra performed plastic surgery of registered patients in the hospital for two days. Face lift, rhinoplasty and breast augmentation surgeries were performed.

He said selective registered patients were provided surgical facilities from 31st December 2014 to 1st January 2015, free of cost. Plastic surgeries were performed live which largely benefited the young doctors and also helped them to enhance their capability in the field of plastic surgery.

He said plastic surgery treatment is very costly in private hospitals, but for the first time in Sindh province, such surgeries were performed in Sindh’s largest healthcare hospitals, without any cost.
