Indus Hospital unveils state-of-the-art emergency department

KARACHI: The Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) unveiled a cutting-edge Emergency Department at its newly expanded 1,350-bed hospital on the Korangi Campus, reaffirming its mission to provide free-of-cost, high-quality healthcare to underserved communities.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, Sindh Minister for Health and Population Welfare, in the presence of donors, dignitaries, and hospital leaders. Distinguished attendees included Abdul Karim Paracha, Chairman of the Board of Directors; Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, President of IHHN; and Prof. Syed Zafar Zaidi, CEO of IHHN, along with other senior figures such as Salim Razak Tabani, Siddique Sheikh, Dr. Muhammad Shamvil Ashraf, and Dr. Ashar Alam.
Advanced emergency care facilities
The new Emergency Department is equipped with cutting-edge technology and infrastructure tailored to meet diverse patient needs. Key features include:
Resuscitation bays for critical care patients.
Dedicated care areas for adult and paediatric patients, ensuring specialised treatment.
Fast-track clinics to efficiently manage non-critical cases.
These enhancements underscore IHHN’s commitment to equitable and accessible healthcare for the underserved.
Vision and dedication
During the event, Prof. Syed Zafar Zaidi welcomed attendees and highlighted the transformative role of the Korangi Campus in improving Pakistan’s healthcare landscape.
Dr. Pechuho praised IHHN's efforts in serving the underprivileged and emphasized the new facility’s critical role in expanding healthcare access across Sindh and beyond. Special acknowledgment was given to the Zuleikhabai V. M. Gany Rangoonwala (ZVMG) Rangoonwala Trust and Amreli Steels for their pivotal contributions to establishing the emergency department.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Abdul Bari Khan reiterated IHHN's vision of continuous growth and stressed the importance of collective efforts in sustaining initiatives of this scale. He noted that the new facility is poised to cater to millions of patients annually, setting a benchmark for excellence in healthcare delivery in Pakistan.
