Joint Venture- `Liver medical camp’ held at Ziauddin Hospital

KARACHI - Dr Ziauddin Hospital, Karachi and Medanta Hospital, Gurgaon Haryana (India), organized a “Liver Medical Camp” for liver transplant patients under their `Peace Clinic’ programme.

Speaking on the occasion, renowned Indian liver transplant surgeon, Dr Arvinder Singh Soin, said:” We are interested in performing surgeries at Dr Ziauddin Hospital to facilitate Pakistani patients in their home country.

“We are also willing to train doctors and paramedical staff of Dr Ziauddin Hospital at Medanta Hospital, which is one of the world’s biggest liver transplant institute, so that they could perform successful surgeries and provide treatment to liver transplant patients in Pakistan,” he added.

He also expressed his pleasure on the establishment of combined kidney liver ward at Ziauddin Hospital which will be connected with Medanta Hospital through latest infrastructure IT support. The ward would be run under the supervision of Dr Arvinder Singh and his team.

“I am thankful to Peace Clinic’s chairman Naved Aslam and Dr Ziauddin Hospital’s chairman Dr Asim Hussain for providing us opportunity to use our expertise for the people of Pakistan,” Dr Soin added.

Dr Ziauddin Hospital’s medical superintendent Dr Anoop Dawani said: “It’s a matter of pride that Dr Ziauddin Hospital is the only hospital in Pakistan that has taken initiative to capitalize upon the expertise of the Indian doctors and resolve the transplantation issues of the people of our country”.

“The main objective of organizing `Peace Clinic’ is to invite world recognized foreign doctors at Dr Ziauddin Hospital for carrying out surgeries jointly,” he said, adding that it would also revolutionize Pakistani’s health care industry, and major beneficiaries would be the country’s patients as they will be having world-class state-of-the-art treatment facilities in their home country, Dr  Anoop added.
