Islamia University of Bahawalpur observed World Autism Day

BAHAWALPUR: On the occasion of World Autism Day, a special celebration was conducted by the Department of Psychology, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, at Abbasia Campus.

The occasion was attended by the head of the department Dr Muhammad Saleem, professors and students in significant numbers. 

On this occasion of World Autism Day, the main building of Abbasia Campus was lighted with blue light to promote awareness about autism

Dr Muhammad Saleem claimed that Autism Spectrum Condition is a disorder of mental and emotional conduct.

Early diagnosis, counselling and treatment can help children with autism get better. 

He added that youngsters suffering from autism should be examined for timely diagnosis and offered speech and occupational therapy. 

He claimed that the process of learning in association with children with autism is better and such activities should be created for such youngsters.

He appreciated Engr. Prof. Dr Athar Mahboob, the Vice-Chancellor of IUB, and Prof. Dr Rubina Bhatti, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, for the special patronage in organising the event.
