ISLAMABAD: Miftah Ismail, a member of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), said that Bushra Bibi's close aide Farah Khan's handbag cost $90,000.
He made his remarks following the virality of a photo of Farah on social media.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Ismail claimed that the PML-N is stating the same things Aleem Khan had previously said against Farah.
They stated that an associate of the first lady had taken the money for the relocation of Punjabi civil officials to other districts.
If Farah Khan was not a "private person," how could she be corrupt, according to the PTI? "Who did that money go to?" said Ismail.
Because she is friendly with the wives of public officeholders, she is able to engage in corrupt activities."
Ismail said that she was a "frontwoman" for someone else.
Ismail referred to Usman Buzdar as "also someone's frontman" in his diatribe, which included the former Punjab chief minister.
Who was Usman Buzdar paying to keep Aleem Khan around when he claimed to have informed Khan of Buzdar's corruption? Ismail pondered.
He also inquired as to who Farah Khan was bribing.
There has been a purported high-value bag picture circulating since yesterday, according to the former finance minister.
"Farah Gujjar carried luggage worth $90,000 on a Punjab government jet," said Ismail. He went on to say that the bag was worth "Rs16.2 million" in local currency.
After soaring wheat and sugar costs forced many to buy only one roti, the PML-N leader revealed that Farah Khan's bag was worth Rs16.2 million, but the general public was advised to consume "one roti" instead.
