Karachi City’s Mayor Visits Burns Centre

KARACHI- Mayor of Karachi, Mr. Waseem Akhtar, recently visited the Burns Centre of Karachi, and enquired about the health of admitted children, who unfortunately lost their arms due to ill planning and criminal negligence of K-Electric Company.

He also appealed the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take action against the Electric company.

While speaking to the media personnel, he expressed his views regarding the unfortunate incident. 8 year old Umer, from  Ahsanabad and 13 year old Haris, a resident of Surjani area of Karachi, got electrocuted after a loose electric wire fell on them.

Dr. Syed Saif Ur Rehman, Metropolitan Commissioner was also present with the Mayor.

Mayor Waseem Akhtar also added that, K-electric as a civic institution is not spending enough money on the welfare of citizens, but is adding further miseries in the lives of citizens. He demanded compensation for the victims’ families, treatment expenses, free electricity and job opportunities in K-Electric, for the members of the affected families.
