KARACHI: The vice-chancellors of medical universities across the province have been summoned by the Sindh High Court in response to a petition alleging irregularities in the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT).
During the hearing, the court voiced concerns about the MDCAT process, indicating that it provided opportunities for corruption and malpractice.
To ensure transparency, the court directed authorities to consult with the Aga Khan University Examination Board and the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) to explore the possibility of these institutions overseeing the MDCAT exam.
The court also ordered presentation records of students who scored over 190 marks, expressing doubts about the authenticity of such high scores.
The court also summoned the Sindh chief secretary, health secretary, secretary Board and Universities, and the the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) President Dr Rizwan Taj.
The next hearing is scheduled for 9th October.
