PDMA issues heat-wave alert

KARACHI: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority Sindh issued a heat-wave alert for Karachi and suburbs from 5 to 8 May 2020.

According to the latest met data analysis, a heatwave is likely to hit Karachi and its suburbs from 5 to 8 May 2020 during the day time. Maximum temperatures are expected to hot between 40 and 42 degrees Celsius.

The wind direction will be northwest/west, turning to the southwest in the evening during the period.

It is, therefore, requested that people ensure proper measures to avert any loss of life during the heatwave, under the guidelines issued earlier, keeping in view the existing circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
