KARACHI: The 14th Biennial Pakistan Society of Nephrology (PSN) conference was at the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT), from February 29th to March 3rd, bringing together distinguished nephrologists from across the globe.
The four-day event was inaugurated by Prof Adib Rizvi, Director of SIUT, emphasizing the importance of collaboration within the medical community to address Pakistan's healthcare challenges.
He underscored SIUT's philosophy: "We don’t let anyone die because they cannot afford to live," reaffirming healthcare as a fundamental right irrespective of socioeconomic status or beliefs.
The conference hosted delegates from the USA, UK, Canada, and Australia, who collaborated with their Pakistani counterparts.
The PSN, representing nephrologists nationwide, focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of kidney-related ailments. It provides a platform for global, regional, and local experts to exchange ideas and advancements, acquiring valuable knowledge to enhance patient care.
The conference also promotes collaboration and networking among specialists, facilitating consultations and referrals. Hands-on workshops offer practical skills, fostering professional development.
Endorsed by international and regional societies, the 14th Biennial PSN conference receives sponsorship from the pharmaceutical industry. Pre-conference workshops, held at the Tabba Heart Institute (THI) and SIUT, paved the way for the main event.
