rd Pakistan Health Care Summit was recently held at a local hotel here in Karachi. The event was organized by Consumer Association of Pakistan (CAP) and Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHC).

Commissioner Karachi was invited as Chief Guest of the event. Doctors, Surgeons, Professors, Pharmacists, Vice Chancellor of Medical Universities, Representatives of Pharmaceutical Companies of National and Multinational level, Representatives of government regulatory authorities, Health Experts of Central & Provincial Levels, High officials of government, Ministries of health, Medical staff, Para Medical Staff were part of the summit.
Welcoming the guests, Chairman CAP, Mr. Kaukab Iqbal emphasized the need of Healthcare in Pakistan at every level. He added “CAP is endeavoring hard to provide awareness regarding healthcare issues countrywide.”
Mr Kaukab informed that through such program CAP has provided platform to highlight health issues and solution of these issues. He expressed his deep satisfaction that suggestions and recommendations of this summit will be helpful to formulate policies at national level for betterment of Health sector “which is essential for healthy society.”
In the light of coronavirus issue which shattered whole global economy, participants expressed their concern and stressed the need to take all precautionary and preventive measures at all levels especially at seaports, airports and borders with neighboring countries. They all stressed the need to take all-out measures at hospitals to combat the threat of Corona Virus.
The meeting was addressed by renowned experts including Dr. Minhaj A. Qidwai, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), SHC, Dr. Syed Imran Ali Shah, Dr. Qaiser Sajjad, Secretary General, Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Mr. Atteq ur Rehman, Director General, Pakistan National Accreditation Council, Prof. Dr. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, Vice Chancellor, Zia Uddin University, Brig. (R) Dr. Malik Waqar Ahmad Awan, CEO Memon Medical Institute Hospital, Mr. Moid ul Hasan, CEO Habib Oil , Mr. Samir Mir Sheikh, Chairman Standing Committee for Education, Science and Technology, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI).
Chairperson of Advisory Council, CAP, Ambassador American Society for Micro Biology (ASM), Prof. Dr. Shahana Urooj also conducted Panel Discussion on clinical waste management, Infection, Prevention and Control in which highly considerable suggestion and recommendations were given for immediate implementation for policy making.
The event concluded with the distribution of souvenirs to the distinctive guests speakers and particpants.
