Farewell Party of Final Year BDS of Hamdard College of Medicine & Dentistry (HCM&D)

A farewell party was arranged on December 8, 2013 by dental students of HCM&D at a local club in Karachi. The atmosphere was full of excitement and merriment as teaching, non-teaching faculty mingled along with students, who were dressed up to their glamorous best. Dr. Mervyn Husein, the head of dental section, Hamdard University Dental Hospital and a leading dentist made his presence in this special evening.

The Annual Function started with a welcome speech presented by Nimrah Khalil and Noor Tariq, who invited Dr. Mervyn Hosein on stage for his insightful remarks and a pleasant speech. He specially admired the efforts of students who had made the function possible. A choreographed dance was performed by 3rd& 4th year students to welcome the guests and electrify the atmosphere.

Teacher’s titles and comments was another performance enjoyed by everyone and presented by the 4th year students. This ammusing performance truly depicted the sharp observation of the youngsters. Another Skit by 3rd year students displayed the abundant fun elements of university life. Zohaib from the 2nd year along with the melodious singer Abdul Ahad further enriched the entertaining ambience.

A unique candle dance was performed by girl students from the 4th year.

Students of the 3rd year gave titles to the graduating final year students. The titles really made everyone smile and giggle but the funniest part of that show were the parodies of teachers which made everyone burst into laughter.

Special awards for Gentleman of the Evening, Lady of the Evening, Best Seniors (male and female), Best Senior Teacher, Best Department, Best Lecturer and Best Lab Technician were given as a token of appreciation. Final year students presented a video of their memorable moments throughout the 4 academic years.

This refreshed the memories and made everyone a little nostalgic, as they would be leaving soon. The students expressed their unity with the graduating batch and said; Our seniors and friends will always remain in our hearts. The show ended with some songs dedicated to the final year students. This cheered everyone up and brought the smiles back after those quieter moments. The final part of the annual farewell function was the photography session and the scrumptious dinner.
