Punjab reports 152 new dengue cases in 24 hours

LAHORE: The Punjab Health Department has confirmed 152 new dengue cases across the province in the last 24 hours. Rawalpindi remains the most affected city, reporting 133 new cases, followed by Lahore with four, and Chakwal with two. Three cases each were identified in Gujranwala and Attock, while one case was reported in Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Layyah.
Over the past week, 746 new cases have been recorded, raising the total number of dengue cases in Punjab to 2,117 for 2024.
A spokesperson from the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department reassured the public that the government is actively managing the outbreak. Government hospitals are well-stocked with medicines and treatments for dengue patients.
The department has also issued an advisory urging residents to keep their surroundings clean and dry to help control the spread of the virus. Health teams are working diligently across the province, and public cooperation is crucial.
