Dengue prevention: ICT administration launched awareness campaign

ISLAMABAD: The district administration has launched an awareness campaign to educate the public about the prevention and control of dengue fever in the Federal Capital. The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration, in collaboration with various institutions and experts, organized a series of training and awareness sessions aimed at combating the rising spread of dengue, according to an ICT administration spokesperson.
Representatives from several ministries, alongside the Health Department, participated in discussions on effective strategies for dengue prevention. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, emphasized the need to expand the campaign’s reach to ensure broader coverage. He highlighted that the awareness initiatives would be conducted in coordination with relevant institutions for maximum impact.
During these sessions, participants were trained on standard operating procedures (SOPs) for dengue prevention, including symptom recognition and key preventive measures that the public can adopt to minimize the risk of infection.
The awareness campaign is also being extended to public spaces, where people are informed about the dangers of dengue and how to protect themselves and their families. The administration's goal is to provide accessible and accurate information to people from all walks of life, contributing to a reduction in dengue cases across the region.
