Surgical Course at SIUT

Karachi: A three day surgical course on “genital tract fistula in female population” held at Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT).The course was organized by SIUT and session was inaugurated by renowned gynecologist Dr Sadiqa Jaffery.

The prime aim of organizing the course is to train medical professionals in dealing with one of the most dreaded complication among female during birth. The genital tract fistula is most common ailment in the developing countries where obstetric health facilities are not available particularly in Asia and Africa.

According to experts once the fistula occurs the suffering female is socially and culturally isolated and neglected from husband, home, in laws and even parents. Experts from Africa, UK, Saudi Arabia and from within the country are taking part in the deliberation.

Inaugurating the course Dr SadiqaJaffery lauded the efforts of SIUT in taking up a vital medical and social issue by providing training facilities for professionals.

Director SIUT Professor Adibul Hasan welcomed the guest and spelt out the aims and objectives of the training course.
