Registry of patients with genetic diseases will be formed in Punjab

LAHORE: According to Dr Yasmin Rashid, Health Minister of Punjab, a registry of genetic illnesses is being developed in order to build a strategy to control these diseases.

At the Punjab Thalassemia and Genetic Disorders Prevention and Research Institute, Yasmin Rashid presided over an important meeting of the Punjab Genetic Task Force. Dr Hussain Jaffery, Director General Punjab Thalassemia and Genetic Disorders Prevention and Research Institute, Professor Amir Zaman Khan of Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Professor Masood Sadiq of the University of Child Health Sciences, and others were in attendance at the Task Force meeting.

Yasmin Rashid went over a variety of genetic illness measures during the meeting. Dr Hussain Jaffery updated her on a variety of genetic disease initiatives.
