Daughter of Shireen Mazari has been charged with sedition

ISLAMABAD: Imaan Zainab Mazari, the daughter of Shireen Mazari, Federal Minister for Human Rights Shireen, was accused of sedition after she took part in a protest by Baloch students outside the National Press Club.

Baloch students are said to have staged a sit-in outside the press club, according to sources. Mohsin Dawar and Imaan Mazari had also taken part in the sit-in.

The Islamabad police reportedly claimed to have used batons to disperse the protesters.

Hundreds of Baloch students have been charged with sedition in Islamabad for "rebellion, violence, and chanting of anti-state slogans," according to Islamabad police.

Authorities in Islamabad have filed a first information report (FIR) in relation to the suspects at the Kohsar Police Station.
